A Milwaukee Soldier, Spc. David Schulz, an infantryman with the 95th Division out of Milwaukee and a 1998 graduate of Whitefish Bay High School, will be competing at Best Warrior next week.
Schultz was deployed from Sep. 2005 till Nov 2006 to Camp Navistar, Kuwait, where he served on the quick reaction force, and as gate security and tower security.
“My interaction with the Kuwait Army was a unique experience,” said Schulz. “I learned about their culture and their historical relationship with the Iraqis.”
Schulz said that he is competing in the Best Warrior Competition to distinguish himself through leadership. “The Army Reserve has increased my focus and given me direction during times of stress,” said Schulz.
In his civilian occupation, Schulz is a chef at the Milwaukee Yacht Club.
