Sgt. Martin Arcilla will be competing to be the Army Reserve's Best Warrior.

A Marysville, Wash., Soldier,  Sgt. Martin Arcilla is a human resources sergeant with the 380th CONUS Replacement Center Battalion located in Bothell, Wash.  He is also one of only 28 Soldiers of the 206,000-strong Army Reserve to be selected for this competition.

A 1999 graduate of Encinal High School in Alameda, Calif., Arcilla is in his fourth year of college and only 11 credits away from earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology.

“He is an outstanding Soldier who has stepped up to become a key leader and a passionate mentor,” said Master Sgt. Beverly A. Curby, acting commander of the 380th.

Arcilla said that he wanted to compete in BWC “to prove to myself that I can do more.  I believe that I have the qualities to represent my unit, Citizen Soldiers who sacrifice every day to have a military and a civilian life.”

“Sgt. Arcilla is without a doubt one of the most valued and respected Non-Commissioned Officers in our unit –as well as the battalion,” Curby said.
