Spc. Brandon L. Harp will be competing at Fort McCoy in the Army Reserve's Best Warrior Competition, July 13-17, 2009.

For the second consecutive year, the Army Reserve’s 304th MP Company is sending a Soldier to the prestigious “Best Warrior Competition” at Fort McCoy, Wis.  Spc. Brandon L. Harp, a Military Police Soldier with the Bluefield, W. Va., 304th MP Company, is one of only 28 Soldiers in the 206,000-strong Army Reserve chosen to compete for this honor.  He will be competing on behalf of the Fort Meade, Md. 200th MP Command.

“The Army is my dream job,” said Harp.  “It fills me with a sense of pride and accomplishment.”

“I want to win at Fort McCoy and go on to win at the Department of the Army level,” he said.  “It takes a determined individual to deal with all the situations that a Soldier deals with on a daily basis.  I’ve learned a lot from my time in the Army Reserve.  I’ve gone from someone who follows to being a leader myself.”

Harp hopes to train next year’s 304th MP Company Soldier.
